– aamchur powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt to taste and water (enough for the dal to soak) and then cover it with the pressure cooker lid and let it cook on a high flame upto two whistles.
– Once done, turn off the flame.
– Add coriander leaves and mix well. Take it out in a bowl. To make pakwan:
– Make the dough using plain flour, oil, cumin seeds, water and little salt.
– Make small balls of the dough. Apply little oil on the working board and the rolling pin. Roll it into thin pakwans and cut it in the shape of a perfect circle using a lid. Prick the pakwans slightly using a fork so that they do not swell up like pooris.
– Fry the pakwans on low heat. Make sure that the pakwan is entirely submerged in the oil. Fry until they turn golden brown in colour.

To assemble:
– Layer the thick dal on the pakwan and then add a layer of sweet tamarind chutney on the top.
– Garnish with red chilli powder, cumin seed powder, chopped onions and some coriander leaves.
– The delicious Dal Pakwan is ready to be served.
