Ingredients
(Serves 2 big or 4 small portions)
– 1 tbsp ghee
– 1 cup makhana
– 1 liter milk (preferably organic cow milk)
– 2 tbsp almonds (powdered)
– saffron
– cardamom powder
– 4 tbsp raw sugar
Method
– In a wok or kadhai, heat the ghee and when it melts, roast the makhana for 4 to 5 minutes, until it is nicely and lightly browned on all sides.
– Make sure that the makhana does not turn black.
– Pour the milk and the powdered almonds, along with the saffron and allow it to come to a boil.
– Lower the heat and cook until the milk thickens.
– Turn off the heat and add the cardamom powder and sugar.
