Ingredients
1 cup fresh grated coconut,
1/2 cup split bengal gram (dariya dal),
salt,
1 small piece ginger,
2 green chillies,
curry leaves,
1/4 tsp. asafoetida (heeng),
1 tsp. white lentil (urad dal),
1/2 tsp. mustard seed powder,
1 tbsp. oil,
coconut,
water
Method
– Grind split bengal gram, ginger and green chillies into a smooth powder.
– Add fresh grated coconut, salt and coconut water and grind well again. Add water if required.
– For tadka, heat oil in a small pan. Add mustard seeds, white lentil once the oil is hot.
– Once the white lentil turns brown, add asafoetida (heeng) and curry leaves.
– Pour this tadka over the chutney.
