Ingredients:-
1 cup choliya
2 cups basmati rice
2 tbsp ghee
1 cup onions sliced
1/2 cup potato diced
1/4 cup tomato sliced
1 tsp ginger garlic green chilly paste
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 cup coconut milk
4 cups water
3 bay leaves
4-5 green cardamom
2 black cardamom
7-8 cloves
1 inch cinnamon sticks
1 small stone flower
1 piece mace
Salt as required
Garnish
1/4 cup fresh coconut grated
Method:-
– Heat ghee in a pan and add bay leaves, cloves, stone flower, black cardamom, green cardamom, mace and cinnamon.
– Cook until the masalas emit an aroma and then add the onion. Add salt and cook for a minute on medium flame.
– Add ginger-garlic-green chilli paste and mix well. Cook for 30 seconds and add turmeric powder, potatoes and choria.
– Now add the rice, coconut milk, water and salt. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes on high flame.
– Add tomatoes, grated coconut and turn the flame low. Cook for 10-15 minutes by covering with a lid.
Choria Pulao is ready to eat!
