Ingredients
7-8 Puris (ready to use, ones used in Sev puri or roughly chopped peanuts),
3 small pieces of cooked and grated sweet potatoes,
1 cup vegetables as per choice/availability – finely chopped and steamed french beans,
carrots,
finely chopped capsicum,
boiled green peas Finely chopped,
coriander leaves Seasoning,
1/4 tsp Garam masala,
1/4 tsp Roasted cumin seed powder,
1/2 tsp Red chilli powder,
1 tsp Amchur (raw mango powder),
Salt to taste,
1 tsp Corn starch (for binding),
Oil for frying
Method
-Take the puris in a zip lock plastic bag and smash them using a rolling pin.
-In a bowl, take the smashed puris, add the boiled and grated sweet potatoes.
-Add all the vegetables and finely chopped coriander leaves.
-Add all the seasoning ingredients, salt & corn starch.
-Mix all the ingredients well & using a mold, shape the mixture into modaks.
-Fry them in hot oil, on a high flame till golden.
-Chatpate Modaks are ready to serve.
