Ingredients
-210 gm (1 cup) green gram dal or Bengal gram dal
-½ cup grated carrot
-½ cup finely chopped cucumber
-2 green chilies, chopped
-1 tsp lime juice
-2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves
-salt to taste
-¼ cup grated coconut
For Seasoning:
-2 tsp oil
-½ tsp mustard seeds
-3 to 4 bits of dry red chili
Method
– Wash and soak the dal in water for about an hour or two.
– Drain the water off the dal and put it in a bowl. Add the grated carrot and chopped cucumber. Put in the green chilies, coriander leaves, lime juice and salt.
– Mix in the grated coconut.
– Season with mustard and green chili.
