Ingredients

1 tbsp. Oil 1 tsp. Cumin seeds Curry leaves
¼ tsp. Asafoetida 1 Green chilli Coriander leaves
1 tsp. Coriander-Cumin powder
¼ tsp. Turmeric powder
¼ tsp. Red chilli powder
1 Onion, finely chopped
3 Tomatoes, roughly chopped
3 Potatoes, diced
½ cup Green peas
Salt to taste
2 pieces of Jaggery (optional) 1-1½ cup water

Method

1. In a pressure cooker heat oil and add cumin seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida, green chilli, coriander leaves, coriander-cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and stir on a low flame.
2. Add onion and cook until it softens a bit and add tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes.
3. Now add potatoes, green peas, salt, jaggery, water and pressure cook for 1 whistle on high flame and 3 on low.
4. Once the lid of the pressure cooker opens up, give the shaak a stir and add coriander leaves. Batata Nu Shaak is ready to eat! HAPPY COOKING!!!
